SmartPay, which was created in partnership with PayPal and launched at 50 pilot locations in April, gives customers the convenience of quickly starting the pump from a mobile phone and the security of processing the transaction through trusted online payment leader PayPal. The app works on any smartphone through a web browser, and native iPhone and Android apps are available through their respective app stores. In addition to the expansion of SmartPay, Cumberland Farms has launched a summer marketing campaign focused on generating trial of its 99-cent Farmhouse Blend iced coffee, featuring a television campaign with actor David Hasselhoff.
