Mansfield Student Named AP National Scholar
Gabriel Alvarez of Mansfield, now attending Stanford University, is one of five current and recently graduated students at Boston’s Commonwealth School recognized by the College Board’s Advanced Placement Scholars program as both National Scholar and Scholar with Distinction. A total of 49 Commonwealth students, nearly a third of the student body, were honored, including 28 AP Scholars with Distinction, Nine AP Scholars with Honor, and 12 AP Scholars.
In the past five years, nearly 60% of the school’s seniors have received recognition from the AP Scholars program.
Earlier this year, three Commonwealth students were named as semifinalists in the Presidential Scholar program, the highest percentage of any senior class in the nation.
Commonwealth is a coed independent high school located in Boston’s Back Bay. For more information, visit www.commschool.org.
