SE Mass Sliders from Mansfield Competed in
Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament August 25-31.

A group of 12 year olds from Mansfield, the SE Mass
Sliders, recently competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in a week long baseball
tournament with 103 other teams from throughout the United States and Canada. 
The tournament featured real baseball rules played on a larger diamond than
traditional little league.  Playing at one of the most spectacular youth
baseball complexes in the world and right near the Baseball Hall of Fame, the
Sliders had a very successful week, winning 3 of their 6 games in the regular
game play and receiving the 60th seed for the single elimination playoffs.  The
3 wins were against teams from Canada, New Jersey and New York, while the 3
losses were against teams from California, Minnesota and New York.  Facing an
extremely tough team from Pennsylvania in the playoffs, the Sliders lost a high
scoring game 16-8.  This was the first ever team comprised entirely of kids from
Mansfield to compete in Cooperstown.  Pictured here is the team as follows, Back
