Milo the Dog Euthanized by Town

According to animal control officer Jeff Collins, Milo was euthanized Monday afternoon.

After biting a second person over the weekend, Milo the dog was euthanized during the afternoon of March 4 according to animal control officer Jeff Collins.

The teenager suffered serious injuries to her face but her current condition is unknown.

Originally, the family planned to appeal last Wednesday's decision by the selectmen to euthanize the dog, but has since given the dog to animal control and signed it over to the town, making the dog the property of the Town of Mansfield.

The order to put down Milo came in response to the dog's attack in January against a six year old boy who needed over 400 stitches. The selectmen voted 3-2 in favor of putting the dog down.
