Crash in Mansfield Hospitalizes Driver

A 20 year-old  was hospitalized after his Geo Prism collided with a tractor trailer Tuesday morning at 11:05 a.m. on Rte. 495 North between exit 12 and 13 in Mansfield.

The driver, Nick Caffelle, sustained injuries and is in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

No further information on Caffelle's injuries is available at this time, however state police representatives said that if there is no details provided to them this late after the accident, then the injuries are usually minor, if at the very least survivable.

State Police have not yet released details of how the crash occurred, and only said that they are currently investigating. The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old male from Saint Sinclaireville Ny., was not injured, and was able to drive the truck away from the accident.
