Keep Mansfield Beautiful extends a heartfelt thank you to the more than 600 volunteers who turned out for last Saturday’s Fifth Annual Great American Cleanup of Mansfield. Our town is noticeably cleaner thanks to your efforts!
In addition to all the families and individuals who took time out to help, thanks go to the daisies, brownies, girl scouts, cub scouts, boy scouts, Knights of Columbus, MHS Student Service Corps, MHS boys lacrosse, MHS girls tennis, Mansfield Music & Arts Society, Garden Club of Mansfield, friends of Matthew C. McCue, Mansfield Conservation Commission, Mansfield Haunted Hollows team, Mansfield Education Foundation, Foxborough Universalist Church, as well as employees from Smith & Nephew, Toyota, and Lagasse-Sweet.
We thank the Mansfield DPW, particularly Lee Azinheira, Mark Cook, and Mike Ahearn for their ongoing partnership on this and other projects. We also thank the Mansfield chapter of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) for providing vehicles to keep our volunteers safe.
Numerous local businesses provided financial support with donations of cash, goods, or services. Our gold level sponsors, who donated $1,000 each, include L.L. Bean, Mansfield Fabricare, and Samsonite. Our silver level sponsor ($500) was Smith & Nephew.
We also had many donations of cash and goods worth $250 from Barrows Insurance, Cheng Du restaurant, Clemmey Corporation, Domino’s Pizza, Harbor One Credit Union, Mansfield Bank, Mansfield Eye Center, Mansfield Music & Arts Society, Mansfield Youth Flag Football, Miller Recycling, Mix It UP, Mulkern Mechanical, Munroe Dairy, North Easton Savings Bank, The Garden Lady and Stop & Shop. We also received donations from Hanna Paper Recycling, Lagasse-Sweet, AAA Pest Control, Rolf C. Hagen Corp., and Mansfield Deli.
We thank Bruce Montgomery and the Comcast Center for donating the use of their VIP tent for our post-cleanup celebration, along with Waste Management for donating the use of their drivers and trucks to pick up the trash we collected.
Thanks to our precinct captains, including Tom Griffin, Nancy Wall, Mike McCarthy, Deborah Knight Snyder, Marty Conboy, Patricia Holiver, Pat Colbert, John Colbert, Dave Kobasa, and Jason Dodd. Finally, a special thanks to Theresa Rhein and her crew of picnic volunteers for making sure our volunteers were well fed.
