Mansfield Police Log: Rock Snowballs, Purse Snatching and A&B with Dangerous Weapon

The following information was provided by the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction. Events noted in this log occurred between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, 2013.

 

Dec. 31

1:55 p.m. Caller reported someone had spray painted his garage door on Windsor Place during the night.

4:04 p.m. Caller reported that youths on North Main Street were throwing snowballs with rocks and one damaged her vehicle.

11:35 p.m. Matthew Coffin, 24, of 21 Bonney Ln. was issued a summons arrest for two counts of felony destruction of property, one count of disturbing the peace and one count of disorderly conduct. Coffin was issued the summons after the reporting party stated that their neighbor across the hall was yelling. Police found a male party bleeding in the bathroom and was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Jan. 1

2:02 a.m. Marlgosia Glanda, 35, of 10 Erick Rd was issued a summons arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of property damage (hit and run).  

11:03 a.m. Jason Joyce, 37, of 18 Thomas St. was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

4:32 p.m. Caller reported a stolen purse on West Street.

Jan. 2

2:13 p.m. Caller reported a case of identity theft.

2:27 p.m. Kevin White, 42, of 50 Warner St. in Medford was issued a summons arrest for malicious damage to a motor vehicle and felony destruction of property.

If kids throw snowballs at my car do I have the right to throw them back or will I get in trouble? I used to be a catcher, I think I could leave a welt from 75 feet or so...after all it's just a friendly snowball fight, unwritten rules apply.
