Keep Mansfield Beautiful Providing New Trees on Route 106

Nine new trees were planted today as part of Keep Mansfield Beautiful's effort to beautify parts of Route 106.

In an effort to make the area of Route 106 near the Winthrop Street parking lot  more attractive, nine trees were planted today as part of Keep Mansfield Beautiful's efforts to bring more color to the area.

Of the nine crabapple trees planted, four were donated to the town by Guerrini Landscape while Keep Mansfield Beautiful covered the costs of the other five.

Guerrini Landscape also donated the time and labor needed to plant the trees.

The trees are part of the "Don’t Just Stand There, Plant Something!” campaign to help towns across Massachusetts understanding the joys and benifits of planting.

In addition, the project is part of Keep Mansfield Beautiful's overall efforts to improve the area. The group is looking to paint a mural on the walls the Route 106 underpass. Currently, the project has raised over $20,000 with a goal of $50,000
