Percussion Ensemble Wins Division Title

They are now 2011 NESBA Champions

The Mansfield High School Percussion Ensemble to compete in the New England Scholastic Band Association's regional championship. They competed in the Percussion Scholastic Marching AA division, against Somerset, Shepherd Hill and Acton-Boxborough Regional.

Out of a total of 29 other groups competing in all the different divisions, Mansfield recieved the second highest score of the entire championship and their highest score of the season: 94.05. A full list of the scores can be found here.

The show was entitled "Goodnight," and featured a dreaming theme. The music in the show featured a medley  of songs from progressive metal bands Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment. The band practiced for over six months to perfect the routine.

The group will be heading out to Dayton Ohio for the Winter Guard International Percussion World Championship. The event will be held on April 14-16.
