Whoever thought to pair fruit with chocolate was a pure genius! Sure fruit is great on it's own, but when you dip it in melted chocolate... that's when true nirvana can be reached. And lucky for us, this same idea translates perfectly to alcohol. This is my twist on a great martini, but the secret doesn't lie in either the raspberry or chocolate flavor, the power behind this drink comes from old faithful... vanilla.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka
1/2 oz. Chambord Liqueur
1/2 oz. De Kuyper White Creme de Cocao
(Feel free to substitue your favorite brand of vanilla vodka)
Combine all the ingredents in a shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously. I cannot stress enough just how vigorously you should shake. There is a fine line though so be very careful!! If you shake too little you are stuck with a lack-luster drink and if you shake it too much it infuses too much water, and no one wants a watered down martini.
Ten to 12 times should be enough so when you pour it there is a small amount of visible ice crystals swirling around the glass. When it comes to a garnish, it is completely up to you. You can rim the glass with chocolate syrup, cocoa powder or drop a Hershey Kiss in the bottom. But anyway you have it, once it is gone, it will leave you wanting more so badly that might find yourself trying to eat the glass!
