Mansfield Visions for Vacancies: What Building Should Go at 670 East Street

What do you think should go here?

This week, we're looking at the commercial at 670 East St, Mansfield. The location could be ideal for a brand new retail store or boutique. It used to be the consignment store New to You. An area that has unique commercial oppertunities; it has the location to service people from Mansfield, Easton, Attleboro, Foxborough, Norton and Sharon. Last year, there was talk of developing a Greek restaurant at this location, but nothing has yet to materialize.  If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

The company is installing solar panels that will drop 90 percent of the company's energy bill.

Miller Recycling Corporation has taken the first steps in installing a 300kW roof mounted solar array at their Mansfield facility. The system will generate enough electricity to power 30 average homes, and will be utilized by the facility to offset 90% of its own traditional energy needs. The system will annually eliminate over a half million pounds of carbon dioxide, equivalent to removing over 70 cars from the road. Randy Miller, president of the 70-year-old company, says “we have always strived to minimize our carbon footprint by instilling processes that emphasized efficiency and sustainability. Several years ago we upgraded our facility lighting, reducing our energy consumption by over 15%; solar is the next logical progression of …

What’s new with the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce in June

Tri Town Chamber ramping up for the summer.

What a great night! Last Thursday, Tri Town hosted our fourth annual Monte Carlo Night at Showcase Live in Foxborough. The event is our biggest fundraiser of the year and really does offer something for everyone. Festivities that included a Neil Young tribute performer – John Fuzek, gaming tables, door prizes announced by Miss Norfolk County Taylor Kinzler, great food and over 80 silent auction items. Speaking of the auction, how does the Deutsche Bank Championship Conference Room sound? This will be the new name for the chamber’s conference room now that DBC outbid yours truly for 2013 naming rights. By all accounts April’s Women’s Link, also held at Showcase Live, was exceptional. Mansfield Visions for Vacancies: 288 North Main

What should go in this vacant building?

This week, we're looking at the commercial/retail space at 288 North Main St. The location could be ideal for a brand new retail store or boutique. The question not only becomeswhat kind of business could go here that would draw enough business for itself, but also what could drive foot traffic to the area.  Some of the suggestions for such properties have been a bookstore or a facility like the Children's Museum in Easton. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Talking with Davis about Money Matters

Retirement Dreams

The Importance of Retirement Goals and Visions

More than Numbers -   Financial Planning has traditionally been about numbers.  How much do I need to save?  How many years before I can retire?  How long will my money last?  And yes, crunching numbers is one part of the financial planning equation.  But there’s more to it than that.  Some say that financial success is 80% behavior and just 20% numbers. Go back in time for a moment.  Imagine yourself back at your very first job; you’re sitting in the conference room listening to the company’s 401k provider talk about the retirement plan.  He says, “If you’re 25 years-old and save about $300 each month, then you’ll likely have $1 million when you’re ready to retire at age 65.”  Admittedly, that’s an impressive number.  But how many 25 year…
