MEF Grants $10,000 to Mansfield Schools

The Mansfield Education Foundation (MEF) has announced a $10,000 grant will be given to the Mansfield Public Schools to support STEM initiatives.
"The Science dept was overwhelmed by MEF's generous grant to MHS", said Janet Hogan, Science Chairman.  "Our students need to be prepared and well-trained with 21st Century learning skills; essential skills we need to cultivate in our students to properly prepare them for college and career.  This grant will provide the framework to do just that."
MEF partnered with Ms. Hogan and Superintendent Brenda Hodges to create a list of technology items that would benefit the schools, as well as best prepare our students for college.  The complete list of items provided by this grant can be found on MEF's website:  www.MansfieldEducationFoundation.org
"We believe that providing newer technology for the teachers and students in the Mansfield Schools will help excite and generate innovative thinking, while helping prepare kids for their future", said Marybeth Cragan, MEF President.  "Our grant program, and especially this year's winning STEM initiative, provides a solid first step in improving technology programs offered in the Mansfield Public Schools."
MEF also announced an additional grant for $2,500 presented to the MESA to help with building a new play structure at the Robinson Elementary School.
MEF has provided grants to the Mansfield Public Schools and teachers totaling $30,000 since inception in 2010.
