New England Revolution Stars Volunteer at Rosie’s Place Women’s Shelter

Those gathering at Rosie’s Place Women’s shelter Wednesday night were pleasantly surprised when New England Revolution stars Scott Caldwell, Larry Jackson and Brad Knighton made an appearance, trading their jerseys for aprons to help serve dinner at the Boston organization.

The Revolution players spent the evening serving dinner and helping out around the kitchen ahead of their game on Sunday, May 11 at Gillette Stadium against the Seattle Sounders – Mother’s Day – when the team will donate proceeds from its game-day raffle directly to the shelter.

Wednesday’s event took place at Rosie’s Place in Boston, MA, the first women’s shelter in the United States, founded in 1974. The organization provides a safe and nurturing environment where poor and homeless women can maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. Rosie’s Place relies solely on the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations and does not accept any city, state or federal funding.
