Best Costumes for the Halloween Parade Announced

Several winners in several categories.

Approximately 1,500 people, youth and adults, gathered Halloween, Sunday, October 30, at the South Common in Mansfield for the Annual Halloween Parade.  The parade was led by William Ross, Town Manager, Board of Selectmen Jess Aptowitz and George Dentino.  The judges were: Jess Aptowitz representing the Board of Selectmen, and Jean Miller representing the School Committee, and Mitch Bregnard representing the Recreation Commission.  The costumes were judged in the following categories:  Best Fictional Character, Best Halloween Theme, and Most Original.

1st Place – Beekeeper and Bee Hive – Emily and Kaylee Atanasoff

2nd Place – UPS Delivery Truck – Carter Bernhard

3rd Place – Alice in Wonderland – The Smith Family

 

Best Halloween Theme:

1st Place – Cemetery Signers - The McLaughlin Family

2nd Place – The Skeleton – Jared Hutchison

3rd Place – The Queen – Elyssa Buchanan

 

Most Original:

1st Place –  The Blue Mail Box – Addy Hiltebeitel

2nd Place – The Kleenex Box – Lindsay MacDonald

3rd Place –  The Garden Girls – Rhiannon Elliott and Kaitlyn Brown

 

The Recreation Department would like to thank the many volunteers, businesses, and organizations for their contributions: Mansfield High School Band with Peter Conti, Director; Mansfield Police Department, Mansfield Emergency Management Agency; Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Honey Dew Donuts, McDonald’s Corp., Mansfield Cable Access, Friendly’s Express, Xtramart Convenience stores, and our many, many, behind the scenes volunteers.
