Magical Chanukah- Menorah Lighting Celebration

Open to all.

The entire community is invited to join family & friends for the most spectacular Chanukah party ever! The event will take place Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the 6 Park Row room 3AB.

This year, special to the Chanukah extravaganza will host Magical Chanukah with a free magic show by Brain Christie an acclaimed magician geared for children and adults.

The program will begin with the kindling of the giant outdoor menorah on the south common outside the Town Hall. Local officials will be on hand to mark the celebration. All children will receive light up menorah necklaces.

Tasty potato latkes (pancakes), doughnuts, & chocolate gelt (coins) will be on hand for all to enjoy. There will be lively music, educational crafts, free grand raffle, games and gifts for the children.

Admission is free, donations are welcome.

Once again the Mansfield Town South Common will be illuminated by a nine-foot Chanukah Menorah Chanukah begins on Tuesday evening Dec. 20 and ends on Dec. 28, 2011

“The holiday of Chanukah is a festival of a historic victory and celebration for all times, highlighted by the kindling of Menorahs each night of the holiday,” said Rabbi Yossi Kivman Director of the Chabad Jewish Center, "It is a holiday that enriches our lives with the light of tradition."  

The Chabad Jewish Center joins thousands of Chabad centers across the globe that are staging similar public displays of the Menorah and its symbolic lights. From Australia to Africa, Columbia to Hong Kong, New York City’s ground zero to the White House lawn, hundreds of thousands will experience the joy of Chanukah with Chabad.
