COA HEALTH CLINICS
With a strong commitment toward offering low cost and free health services, the COA sponsors health clinics at the Drop In Center, as well as at other locations within Mansfield.

Health clinics scheduled:
• Podiatry: Tuesdays at 1:00 PM, Fees may apply
• Blood Pressure/Blood Sugar: Tuesday, July 12th at 1:00 PM, FREE
• Bone Density: Tuesday, July 26th at 1:00 PM, $5, Mansfield residents
• Cholesterol/Blood Sugar: Tuesday, August 9th, 1:00 PM, FREE

COA WELLNESS CLASSES
BEGINNERS AND NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME IN ALL WELLNESS ACTIVITIES. $1.00 PER PERSON PER CLASS IS APPRECIATED. FOR INFORMATION, CALL DARCIA AT 508-261-7368.

The Mansfield COA Walking Club will continue to walk through the summer and has scheduled the following outings in July and August:

New members are welcome! All walks leave from the COA by carpools at 8:45 AM. Please note that some walks are lengthy may traverse uneven terrain. For information, or to join the COA Walking Club, please call Activities Coordinator Darcia Jensen at 508-261-7368 .

COA ENRICHMENT

BEGINNERS AND NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME IN ALL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THESE ACTIVITIES ARE FREE.

Regularly scheduled activities:
• Cards/Board Games, daily at 9:00 AM, FREE, Refreshments available
• Wii Bowling, Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:30 AM
• Painting/Art Instruction, Tuesdays at 1:00 PM, Residents $3/Non-residents $5
• Quilting, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM, FREE
• Coin Club, Wednesdays, July 13th and August 17th, Free by appointment only
• Computer Instruction, two mornings per week, by appointment only, Residents $3/Non-residents $5. To schedule an appointment, call Louise at 508-261-7368

Round trip fares to Mansfield Crossing, grocery and downtown are $2.50 cash, or $2 with a ticket. Round trip fares to all other stores are $5.

Mansfield Friends of the Drop In Center

The Friends of the Drop In Center will not meet during the months of July and August. The next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday, September 7th at 12:30 PM. Agenda items include planning the annual Holiday Fair to be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011.

The Friends of the D.I.C. (Drop In Center) is a non-profit incorporated organization. The Friends have been incorporated since 1979 and have a membership of over 200 seniors.

The purpose of the Friends Organization is to raise funds to help supplement special programs, senior trips, luncheons, and items for the Council on Aging department. The Friends also help supplement the COA's newsletter mailing once a month. Volunteers help with a variety of different tasks some of which include folding, and labeling of over 1700 newsletters monthly. Volunteers help with their annual Holiday Fair in October and Bake Sales twice yearly.

Mansfield Triad

Mansfield Triad will not meet during the months of July and August. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 21st at 1:30 PM.

Agenda items include final plans for the annual Pasta Feast to be held on Monday, September 26th at 5:30 PM. To join Triad, please call Gale at 508-261-7368. Membership in Triad is free.

Mansfield Triad is a dynamic organization of senior citizens and staff members from the COA, Police and Fire Departments and the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department. Triad sponsors action oriented programs which enhance the safety and well being of older residents in our community.
