BESI Thanksgiving Lunch

The annual COA and Bristol Elder Nutrition Thanksgiving lunch will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 11:30 a.m. The dinner includes roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, peas with carrots, whole wheat dinner roll with butter, cranberry sauce, apple crisp and beverages.

The suggested and voluntary donation for this lunch is $2. Space is limited to 36, and prior registration is required. For reservations, please call Louise at 508-261-7368.

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

The Mansfield community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held once again at the Orthodox Congregational Church on West St. Mansfield seniors are invited to attend the annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24 Thanksgiving Day.

 

This annual dinner is offered to members of the community at no charge, and transportation is provided if needed. Reservations are required. For those who are unable to attend dinner at the church due to illness or disability, a home delivered meal will be provided. For reservations or a home delivered meal, please call the COA Outreach Department at 508-261-7368.

 

Christmas Parade

Mansfield seniors are invited to join the COA Walking Club for the final walk of 2011 in the annual Mansfield Christmas Parade on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m.. The parade is followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the South Common at 4 p.m.. To join this walk, please pre-register with COA Activities Coordinator Darcia Jensen at 508-261-7368.

 

Chime Concert

The Silver Chimers Handchime Choir will be performing at the Congregational Church on West St. on Sunday, Nov. 27, after the Christmas Parade. Mansfield seniors are invited to attend this free program.

 

Tree Trimming Celebration

The COA is inviting seniors to attend the annual Christmas tree decorating celebration on Friday, Dec. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Darcia Jensen, COA Activities Coordinator, will host the celebration with seasonal music, holiday foods, spiced egg nog and other beverages, and an appearance of a special guest.

 

Participants may bring a favorite ornament to place on the tree, or may use one provided by the COA. This program is free and requires pre-registration. For information, or to sign up for this program, please call Louise at 508-261-7368.

 

Mansfield Women of Today  to hold benefit house tour and tea

Mansfield Women of Today (MWOT) will be holding the annual Holiday House Tour and Tea on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 1 - 5 p.m.. The program includes open house tours of 5 select Mansfield homes followed by tea at the Mansfield Historical Society.

 

Proceeds from this event will fund charitable organizations, including the Mansfield COA Friends’ Heating Assistance Fund. Tickets are $25 if purchased by Nov. 18 and will be on sale starting Nov. 5.Tickets are available at Mansfield Bank and Glee Gifts in Mansfield. Tickets purchased after Nov. 18 are $30.Please call Jeanne at 508-337-4552 with questions about ticket sales.

 

COA Cinema Pub

December Cinema Pub will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. and will host a showing of “White Christmas” starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen with the score composed by Irving Berlin. This heartwarming film is sure to inspire a feeling of Christmas! Pre-registration is required, and cost for each movie is $1. To register, please call Louise at 508-261-7368.
