Mansfield Crossing Hosting Freeskate this March

Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing will be hosting a free skating rink at the former Borders location.

This March, the Mansfield Crossing shopping center will host Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing, a community winter wonderland of free skating, free skate rentals, festive decor, and numerous family-friendly activities and promotions. The former Borders bookstore has been transformed for the event, which opens on Friday, March 2nd. On Saturday, March 3rd Radio 92.9 will host a special kick-off event with a live band, on-site broadcast, and special retail giveaways from Noon-3PM. Freeskate continues every weekend through March 18th, with skating scheduled Fridays from 3PM-8PM, Saturdays from Noon-8PM, and Sundays from Noon-6PM.

Welcoming, seasonal design touches and participation from Mansfield Crossing’s eclectic tenant mix will create a “Winter Wonderland” atmosphere. The Borders space is fully transformed into a festive community rink, with a high-tech surface requiring no refrigeration. L.L. Bean will have a winter activity kiosk stationed nearby, Best Buy will sponsor a “Kinnect” video game station, and special activities will include face painting, balloon animals, horse-drawn carriage rides and more. Other retail partners include local independent gift retailer Bertucci’s, Chico’s, Cosί, glee gifts, LOFT, Omaha Steaks, Petco, Qdoba, SpaRenity, Sports Authority, T.G.I. Friday’s, Wines & More and Yankee Candle. New promotions and activities will be announced throughout the event.

Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing embraces the New England tradition of skating” notes Ellyne Fleshner, Regional Director of Management and Marketing. “We thank our merchants and the community for their partnership in creating this winter wonderland experience for all to enjoy.”

Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing will be located directly next to L.L. Bean at Mansfield Crossing, 280 School Street in Mansfield, Mass. Event updates will be publicized as they develop on MansfieldCrossing.com, Facebook.com/ShopMansfield and Twitter.com/Shop_Mansfield.
