Mansfield Green Getting Beautification Work

New stone wall for Mansfield Green Recycling Center.

An attractive new stone wall and landscaped island are taking shape at the Mansfield Green Recycling Center in East Mansfield. The work underway is part of Keep Mansfield Beautiful’s ongoing efforts to beautify the entranceway to the Mansfield Green.

When the project in complete in the spring, it will feature a 40-foot traditional New England stone wall and a fully landscaped island featuring a birch tree, new shrubs, and flowers. These enhancements are in addition to the work done last spring, when a mix of 45 rhododendron and mountain laurel shrubs were planted on the site.

Thanks to generous support from the Mansfield Non-Profit Gift Fund, Keep Mansfield Beautiful was able to hire, Guerrini Landscape, a Mansfield-based business, to manage the construction. If all goes according to schedule, the project should be completed by April.

“This project has been on our to-do list for some time, so we’re really excited to finally see it come to fruition,” said Neil Rhein, executive director of Keep Mansfield Beautiful. “We hope it inspires businesses and residents in the community to beautify their own properties and take greater pride in the appearance of our town.”
