[UPDATED] MANSFIELD STORM CENTER: Trash/Recycling Schedule Changed

Friday, Jan. 3

1:38 p.m. 
Trash/recycle collection scheduled for today has been cancelled, according to an announcement on the town's Facebook. Trash/recycling collection normally scheduled for Thursday (Jan. 2) will be picked up on Saturday (Jan. 4). Collection normally scheduled for Friday (Jan. 3) will be picked up on Monday (Jan. 6). All pick-up next week will be delayed one day.

Thursday, Jan. 2

9:11 p.m.: 
There's a blizzard warning for parts of Massachusetts, but it doesn't look like we're getting one in Bristol County. 

4:28 p.m.: 
Remember that there is a Winter Parking Ban in effect during the winter.

1:48 p.m.: 
Evening activities tonight have been canceled for Mansfield Public Schools and there is no school tomorrow.

1:09 p.m.:

12:53 a.m.:
An accident on Interstate 95 North at Exit 6 to Interstate 495, caused two lanes to be blocked, but the accident is now clear and lanes have been reopened according to MassDOT.

The first storm of 2014 is underway as the initial flakes began falling after midnight on Thursday. During the day on Thursday there will be some accumulation, though much of the snow will come Thursday night into Friday before the storm ends by Friday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police are asking drivers to stay home if possible due to slick road conditions.

"Roads are just going to get more snow covered," State Police tweeted. "If you don't have to go out, stay in today. Let the plows do their job."
