Mansfield Water Flushing

Annual water flushing may mean discolored water.

According the Mansfield town Web site, annual water system flushing is currently in progress.

Over the next six to eight week period, crews from the Mansfield Water Division will be flushing hydrants in various street areas throughout the town beginning in West Mansfield.  Flushing takes place weeknights between the hours of 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. (weather permitting).  Motorists are asked to watch for workers in or near the roadway, and to please drive with caution.

Water customers may (or may not) experience discolored water as a result of this activity.  Should this occur, run faucets, tub, spigots, etc. until water color clears.  As a precaution to protect laundry, check water in clothes washers and make sure the water color is clear before adding fabrics.

Install a rain sensor on your irrigation controller so your system won't run when it's raining.
