Military Veterans to Showoff Artwork at Patriot Place This Weekend

A group of eight military veterans will be taking their next steps on the road to recovery this weekend, July 12-14, when their artwork is featured for the first time publicly at The Artist’s Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place as part of the Veteran Affairs program, “Frame Your Recovery.”

This special exhibit will feature approximately 50 pieces of photography and paintings from the recovering veterans and will be displayed on all the “Featured Artist” wall space of the Patriot Place art gallery beginning Friday, July 12, from 5-9 p.m. and continuing through the weekend, from 1-9 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 14.

“Opportunities like this are great for their recovery and support our program goal of getting veterans reintegrated into the community,” said Frame Your Recovery organizer Denise Fragoza.

Jack Gannon, manager of The Artist’s Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place, said the gallery’s aim since the day it opened has been to better the community by establishing a professional family-friendly art gallery at Patriot Place and is thrilled to be bringing such a unique exhibit to the area this weekend.

“We wanted and succeeded in building a place where local artists have an inexpensive option to exhibit and sell their art, as well as a location where art lovers can come to enjoy and purchase some of the best locally produced artwork,” said Gannon. “In two years, over 300 local artists have enjoyed the opportunity to exhibit at The Artist's Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place. From our occasional "Paint Outs," where we will have 20 or so artists all painting outside the art gallery, to our high school program where earlier this year we had 11 area high schools each exhibiting student artwork for a weekend at the gallery, we want the community to know they have a professional yet fun art gallery right in their own backyard.”
