National Weather Service: Tropical Storm Watch and Flood Watch

Predicted conditions in Mansfield.

Today, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch, tropical storm watch and a hazardous weather outlook for this weekend, and Mansfield is not excluded from these preditced conditions.

The NWS said that as of 5 a.m. this morning the eye of the storm was about 920 miles from the island of Nantucket, Ma., or 910 miles from Hartford, Ct. While the storm was only moving at 14 miles per hour, the wind intensity was hovering around 11 mph.

According to the NWS, the storm has started moving north today towards Southern New England. The NWS predicts strong winds and heavy rainfall for today. The NWS also said well as flooding in coastal areas is not out of the question.
