New Mansfield Train Schedule Starts Sept. 12

Commuters using the face a new schedule starting Monday, Sept. 12.

The modified Providence/Stoughton commuter rail schedule arrives with the wrap-up of the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Rail Tie Replacement Project, the MBTA and the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company announced Thursday. The railroad company operates the commuter rail.

Crews have replaced ties on between Boston's Back Bay station and Forest Hills since June.

The project prompted temporary schedules for the Providence/Stoughton, Franklin, Fairmount and Needham lines starting June 11.

All but the Providence/Stoughton line resume regular weekday service Sept. 12, the MBTA and MBCR said.

The changes to the Providence/Stoughton schedule are:

Weekday Inbound:

• Train 8802: Departs TF Green at 6:33 p.m.; Arrives Providence at 6:48 p.m.
• Train 8804: Departs TF Green at 7:38 p.m.; Arrives Providence at 7:53 p.m.

Weekday Outbound:

• Train 8801: Departs Providence at 5:41 a.m.; Arrives at TF Green at 6:01 a.m.
• Train 8803: Departs Providence at 6 a.m.; Arrives at TF Green at 6:25 a.m.
• Train 813: Departs South Station at 4:35 p.m.; Arrives at Providence at 5:44 p.m.
• Train 815: Departs South Station at 5 p.m.; Arrives at TF Green at 6:25 p.m.
• Train 817: Departs South Station at 5:40 p.m.; Arrives at TF Green at 7:03 p.m.
• Train 819: Departs South Station at 6:10 p.m.; Arrives at TF Green at 7:30 p.m.

Weekend Outbound:

• Train 1805/2805: Departs South Station at 11:05 a.m.; Arrives at Providence at 12:15 p.m.
• Train 1807/2807: Departs South Station at 1:05 p.m.; Arrives at Providence at 2:15 p.m.
