Question of the Day: Common Core Standards Versus the MCAS

For more than a decade, the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) has been the standard by which Maasachusetts Schools have graded their students on the state level. This year, schools accross the state, including Mansfield, are preparing for the changeover to the Common Core Standards.

According to the Thomas B. Fordham Institute for Advancing Educational Excellence, the current state standard and Common Core Standard are too close to call in terms of academic achievement.
