The Mansfield Green Center Wants your Winter-Felled Trees

The Mansfield Green is a town recycling park and compost facility. It's located at the intersection of Rte 106 and East St., right near . The facility accepts glass, plastics with the resin identification codes #1 through #7, clothing, tin, metals, motor oil,  fluorescent light bulbs, newspapers, cardboard, and yard waste.

A permit must be obtained first in order to drop off materials at Mansfield Green. You can get one at the Town Clerk's Office  for $10, during regular office hours (Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Fri 8am-12pm). These stickers also confirm resident identity and allow parking at the train station. Stickers cannot be obtained at the recycling facility itself.

The Mansfield Green facility is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. May be open on other days as irregularly posted.

With the heavy snow this winter, clearing out the yard will definitely be a monumental task for residents in or near wooded areas. As you can see from the photos to the right, the snow-fallen trees are starting to pile up quite quickly.
