Dixie Diehards Jazz Band at the Black Box

The Dixie Diehards Jazz Band brings a unique blend of musicianship, enthusiasm and flair to the music of the Jazz Era from Kid Ory and Fats Waller to Jelly Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong.

The Diehards, whose diverse lineup includes an autism researcher, medical doctor, news reporter among others, share a long-running devotion to Dixieland and traditional New Orleans jazz in the style of early 20th century.

Playing melodies that vary from rollicking numbers like “Hello Dolly,” “Doctor Jazz” and “Bill Bailey” to soulful renditions of “Basin Street Blues” and “Georgia On My Mind,” The Dixie Diehards are a throwback to the good times from an indelible era in American history.
