How to Get a Puppy Without Losing Your Mind

The Mansfield Park & Recreation Department invites you to attend a presentation by Jane Young on adding a puppy to your family.  Admission is free and open to the public. We will be holding this information packed session on Tuesday, November 29th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Mansfield Public Library’s conference room, 255 Hope Street in Mansfield. All ages are welcome but please leave your best doggy friends at home and be prompt so as not to interrupt the presentation.

During the presentation Jane will discuss all the ins and outs of finding a puppy that’s right for you and how to begin a successful experience once you get the puppy home.  Among the topics covered will be picking a breed, where to get a puppy, potty training, use of the crate, diet, dealing with puppy nipping, and skills to teach in the first three weeks.  Jane teaches all dogs, whether for basic manners or for high level competition, through strictly positive reinforcement; no fear or pain-based training is used.
