Mansfield Music and Arts Society Awarded $9K Grant

The money was part of a $14 million in grants recently announced by Gov. Deval Patrick.

The Mansfield Music and Arts Society was awarded a $9,000 state grant for a capital campaign feasibility study.

The money was part of a $14 million in grants recently announced by Gov. Deval Patrick. The money is slated for building projects aimed at nonprofits, arts/cultural organizations, and schools.

"These Cultural Facilities Fund projects will expand access and education in the arts, history, and sciences; create jobs in construction and cultural tourism; and improve the quality of life in cities and towns across the Commonwealth," Patrick said in a statement. "Through this new round of funding, we are continuing to create a more vibrant place for our students to learn, our families to live and our businesses to grow."

The Mansfield Music and Arts Society is home to the New England Repertory Company, The Black Box Theater, The Mansfield Arts Association, and The North End Coffee House.
