Gourmet Pizza and Grill will stay open until at least Jan. 8, after the owner nearly forgot to file the proper paperwork to renew the common victualler's license, due to expire at midnight on Dec. 31, according to the Sun Chronicle

This issue came up at the last Board of Selectmen's meeting; the town had attempted to contact the restaurant owner multiple times until the shop owner, Younes Cheikh filed the renewal form.

The Board of Selectmen will be able vote whether to renew the common victualler's license, keeping the pizza shop at its location at 221 North Main Street, at the next meeting, scheduled for Jan. 8.

I hope Gourmet stays open. We need businesses downtown.

I never understood why this joint didn't stay open till 1 or 2 am Fridays and Saturdays. Got two bars with hungry, late night patrons right next door.
