Stress Awareness Month

Some tips on how to handle stress, in honor of April being Stress Awareness Month

While there are only a few days left in April, we didn’t want it to slip away without mentioning the fact that it is Stress Awareness Month, meaning that the month is dedicated to bringing tips and tricks for how to reduce the amount of stress in your life. Not only does stress have negative implications on your health, such as increased blood pressure, premature wrinkles, ulcers, and acne, it can cause you to lash out on the people in your life that you care about the most.  Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious?  Then take some of these tips to heart and do something about it TODAY.

-         Going for a run, jog, or even walk around the block or the treadmill not only will help you to clear your head and allow for some much needed alone time, but it will also release endorphins that are a sure way to reduce your stress and increase your overall happiness.

-         Watching some mindless, guilty-pleasure television is the best way to take your mind off of whatever is bothering you.  Shows that do not require thinking
or analyzing will allow you some time to turn your brain off for a little bit and
rejuvenate it for the next day.
