Arbella and Live Nation Kick off 2013 Season of “Road Crew” Designated Driver Program at the Comcast Center and Bank of America Pavilion

Road Crew, a designated driver program at the Comcast Center and the Bank of America Pavilion kicks off. Sign up by visiting the Arbella tent at both venues all summer long.

The Arbella Insurance Foundation (“Arbella”), along with Live Nation, the world’s largest live entertainment company, today announced the kickoff of  the second season of the Road Crew designated driver program, aimed at alleviating drunk driving and rewarding those who make responsible driving decisions during the 2013 concert season. The program provides complimentary nonalcoholic beverages for eligible concertgoers* who pledge to be designated drivers.  Road Crew was developed to help keep both drivers and passengers safe as they travel home from concerts. The program is expanding to include the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston  this year, due to the success of the inaugural season  hosted at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. More than 4,000 concertgoers took part in the program during the 2012 season.

“Arbella’s Foundation has consistently taken a stand against dangerous driving practices, including distracted driving and drunk driving,” said John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group, and chairman and president of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. “We want everyone to have a great time at these concert venues this summer, and Road Crew is our way of rewarding concertgoers who also make smart decisions about staying safe behind the wheel after a night out.”

“When it comes to our concert patrons, it is safety first and foremost,” added Bruce Montgomery, general manager of the Comcast Center. “The Road Crew designated driver program makes it easy for everyone to have a fun concert experience and get home safe.”

All eligible concertgoers who attend 2013 shows at the Comcast Center and the Bank of America Pavilion can sign up for the program by visiting the Arbella tent and identifying themselves as a designated driver. Participants will be given Road Crew lanyards and coupons entitling them to free fountain beverages at select concession stands throughout the venues

Live Nation has implemented similar incentives at other concert venues throughout the country to promote responsible driving. By bringing the program to the Comcast Center and the Bank of America Pavilion, Arbella and Live Nation hope to encourage safe driving throughout Massachusetts and surrounding areas during the 2013 concert season.
