3. School Committee Meeting Tonight

The Mansfield School Committee will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Room 3 a/b at Town Hall.

4. New Library Director Named

In an announcement from Town Manager William Ross at the March 27 meeting of the Mansfield Board of Selectmen, Cathie Coyne has been selected as the new library director for the Mansfield Public Library.

Coyne is currently the assistant director of the Easton Public Library and has 16 years of experience in the Boston Public Library. She is also a graduate of UMass Boston and earned her masters in library science from Simmonds.

The start date for the new director is April 22.

5. Hydrant Flushing Today

Between 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., the hydrants on the following streets will be flushed: West, Gilbert, Martha’s, Wayside, Old Farm, Megan’s, Black Pond, Saddleridge, and Chessman.

Water customers may (or may not) experience discolored water as a result of this activity.  Should this occur, run faucets, tub, spigots, etc. until water color clears.  As a precaution to protect laundry, check water in clothes washers and make sure the water color is clear before adding fabrics.
