5 Things: Hornets to Play in the Shriners' Classic and More

It's Thursday, April 11 and here are the five things you need to know!

1. Today's Forecast From the National Weather Service

  • Today: Scattered showers, mainly before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Tonight: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 36. East wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

3. Hornets to Play at Shriners' Classic in June

Defensive lineman Antonio Medeiros and running back Robbie Rapoza will represent the Hornets when they play for the South team in the Shrniers' Classic at Bentley College on June 22.

All proceeds from the game will go to the Shriners Hospital in Boston.

 

4. Hydrant Flushing Today

The following streets will undergo hydrant flushing today between midnight and 6 a.m.:

Jewell St., Windermere Dr., Balcom St., Knight Way, Justin Dr., North White Pine Ln., South White Pine Ln., Hickory Terr., Claire Ave., Otis St., Pheasant Hollow Dr., Plantingfield Rd., Elm St., Patricia Rd., Gale Ln., Brookside Rd., Carol Rd., and Janet Ln.

Water customers may (or may not) experience discolored water as a result of this activity.  Should this occur, run faucets, tub, spigots, etc. until water color clears.  As a precaution to protect laundry, check water in clothes washers and make sure the water color is clear before adding fabrics.

 

5. Scentsy Open House!

It's a fairly new company that sells wickless candles that are flame, lead and soot free! Drop on by and sample some scents and see other products Scentsy offers! There will be a drawing everyone can enter as well as some light refreshments!
