3. White House Decorator from Mansfield Contributes to Highlight of April 4-7 Home Show: A House Built Inside RI Convention Center

which runs through Sunday, will get to walk through a full-sized house built inside the Rhode Island Convention Center (see time-lapse video here).

The “Saco Bay” style house was decorated by Karen Corinha, an interior designer from Mansfield, M.A., who was among a prestigious group of decorators and designers selected to “deck the halls” of the most famous address in America, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, for the 2011 holiday season.   

“Who wouldn’t want to collaborate with someone who has decorated The White House?” asked CRM Modular Homes Executive Director Carol O’Donnell. Johnston-based CRM Modular Homes is building the model house inside the event venue during the three days leading up to The Home Show.  

With 17 years of experience, Corinha’s design portfolio features clients mostly in New England and some as far west as Texas. For any project, big or small, collaboration is key, according to Corinha.

Additionally, Corinha will lead a seminar, “My House to The White House,” a presentation based on her charitable design work and her assignment in the nation’s capital in 2011.

4. Hydrant Flushing Today

Hydrands on the following streets will be flushed: West St., Donovan Ln., Hampshire St., Stratton Rd., Walnut St., South Walnut St., Casa Dr., Hampshire St., Berkshire Rd., Forbes Blvd., and Chauncy St.

Water customers may (or may not) experience discolored water as a result of this activity.  Should this occur, run faucets, tub, spigots, etc. until water color clears.  As a precaution to protect laundry, check water in clothes washers and make sure the water color is clear before adding fabrics.

 Tickets for the Honda Civic Tour featuring Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson go on sale on April 6 at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $38.50 and can be purchased though Live Nation.
