3. School Committee Meeting Tonight

The Mansfield School Committee will have a budget meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Mansfield High School. 

4. Zumba in Mansfield

The Mansfield Congregational Church on West Street will host a Zumba session on January 8 at 5:30 p.m. All newcomers are invited to try the class for free before paying a $5 fee for each additional class.

5. Library Director Wanted

The Mansfield Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an energetic and experienced individual with a very strong commitment to public service to manage and direct the Mansfield Public Library.  The library, located in a suburban community with a population of 23,121, has an annual circulation of over 222,000, a staff of 10 FTE, and a FY2013 budget of $805,972.  The director will work under the policy direction of the 5 member appointed board of trustees, and will serve as the library’s liaison with municipal government and the community in general. 

A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work effectively with others, possess intellectual curiosity and an appreciation of libraries, be competent and comfortable with technology. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  organizing, budgeting, collection development, supervising, directing, long range planning, and marketing library services and functions. Requirements:  MLS from an ALA accredited library school, a Certificate in Professional Librarianship issued by the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners, and 3-5 years of administrative and supervisory experience in a public library.
