5 Things: Treasurer Grossman Coming to Town, MHS Senior Schedule, and More

Today in 5 Things You Need to Know, check out the schedule for MHS senior activities this week and Treasurer Steve Grossman plans to speak in Mansfield.

1. Today's Forecast From the National Weather Service

  • Today: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 2pm. High near 74. Southwest wind around 8 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
  • Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 1am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

With only six days until graduation, Mansfield seniors will spend the week receiving awards and preparing to get their diplomas. The senior schedule for this week will be as follows:

  • 6/4: 8 a.m.-8:45 a.m. - Continental Breakfast, 9 a.m. - Class Day Rehearsal in the auditorium plus caps & gowns distributed, and 7 p.m. - Scholarship Night
  • 6/5: 8 a.m. - Class Day Rehearsal (Students report to Cafeteria)
  • 6/6: 8 a.m.-10:15 am: Class Day in the MHS Gym (Students report to Cafeteria at 7:30 a.m.), Dinner Cruise (Arrive at MHS by 4:00PM)
  • 6/7: 8 a.m. - Graduation Rehearsal (Students report to Cafeteria)
  • 6/9: 1 p.m. - Graduation at the Comcast Center

3. Treasurer Grossman to Speak in Mansfield on June 4

On Tuesday June 4th the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce will host it's bi-annual Economic Development Breakfast featuring Treasurer Steve Grossman from 7:45-9:00am at the Holiday Inn Mansfield/Foxborough.

Treasurer Grossman will provide insight on the overall financial strategy of the Commonwealth and how this affects the Tri-Town area of Mansfield, Foxboro and Norton.

The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend and learn.

The fee is $15.00 for Non Tri-Town Chamber members/$10.00 for members

4. Who is Meeting Tonight?

  • 6 p.m. - Recreation Commission Meeting, room 3 a/b at Town Hall
  • 7 p.m. - Housing Authority Board Meeting, 15 Park Street

 

5. Voter Registration Deadline

The voter registration deadline for the June 25 Special State Election will be on June 5, 2013.  Any non-voter who wishes to register may do so at the Mansfield Town Clerk’s office on or before June 5th at 8 p.m.
