The family of former Mansfield resident Jessica Cochrane will hold a family fun day on May 4 to help raise money and awareness for Gardner Syndrome.

Cochrane, who now lives in North Attleboro, sufferers from the condition and has gone though multiple surgeries, included the removal of her large intestine on early this year as part of an effort to prevent colon cancer from forming.

The day of fun and games will help raise money for Cochrane and lessen the financial burden that comes with being unable to work while recovering from the surgeries.

Special guests and performances at the event includes singer Shanna Jackman, a demonstration from Personal Best Karate, and members of the Rev Girls.

Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children 12 and under will also receive one free game ticket. The event opens at 10 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. at Mansfield High School.
