Comcast Center Assault Suspect Receives Reduced Charges

A Mansfield resident accused of assaulting a person at a 2011 concert recently had the charges reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.

A Mansfield man accused of committing an assault at a July 2011 concert has had the charges against him reduced.

Daniel Morizio will now face  misdemeanor charges for assault and battery charge instead of aggravated assault and battery, a felony according to the Sun Chronicle.

Allegedly, Morizio was involved in an altercation with another concert goer named Michael Skehill at a Tim McGraw show.

Mirizio is accused of attacking Skehill before five other co-defendents contuned the attack while Mirizio walked away. 

His lawyer and father, Michael Morizio, said his son was not at the show and questioned the testimony of the co-defendents.

A motion was made by Michael Morizio to have the case dismissed, but the request was denied by Judge James J. McGovern in Attleboro District Court.

Morizio returns to court on Aug. 19 to face the charges.
