1. KinderCare is hosting they first Coat Drive to help local families during the winter months.  Infant to adult size coats, clothing (hats, mittens, sweaters, boots, etc.) that are gently used or new will be collected from Saturday until Nov. 2 at KinderCare (515 West Street, Mansfield).

2. MMAS & The New England Repertory Company present A Nice Family Gathering a comedy play by Phil Olson at the Black Box Theater.   The play will run for three weekends opening on Friday, October 19th until Sunday, November 4th. CAST:  Bruce Church of Norton, Alice Springer of Sharon, Maggie Nichols of Stoughton, Rich Stiles of Plymouth, David Anderson of Boston, Rachel Morandi of Bellingham. Performances: Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights at 8 p.m.  Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

3. Help a Veteran by supporting the Mansfield Veterans of Foreign Wars' Fall Festival BBQ featuring Galley Dawgs. Good Food, Great Music, Dancing, Raffles, & Horseshoes. $15 per person.  Ticket sales in advance.  Tickets may be purchased at the VFW, 88 Chilson Ave., Mansfield, MA 02048.

4.  Local Republicans are hosting a rally on Saturday, October 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the North Commons Green. In addition to Bielat, the event will feature Jeff Bailey, candidate for State Senate, Jay Barrows, Mansfield-Norton State Representative, Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson.

5. The Hands-On Montessori School will be holding an open house on Saturday, Oct. 27 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Children are welcome to attend and explore the classrooms with you.  Please come and meet the teachers and learn about the unique benefits of a Montessori education for your child.  You will also have the opportunity to meet  parents of currently enrolled students.
