Five Things You Need to Know March 5-6

Sports, comedy, celebrating the arts and meeting legends highlights weekend activities.

1. "March Madness" Mansfield style continues Saturday. The No. 1 seeded Hornet ice hockey team will get things started with 2 p.m. against Coyle-Cassidy at the Asiaf Rink in Brockton. After that, it will be the rematch of last year's Division 1 South finals as Madison Park, who won last year's game, will be at No. 1 seeded Mansfield for a 6 p.m. If you are going to the game, you might want to get there a little earlier than usual as a packed house is expected.
2. MMAS (Mansfield Music Arts Society) will be celebrating 18 years of supporting the arts in Southeastern Massachusetts at Mansfield Holiday Inn from 5:30-10 p.m. The evening includes three-course meal, silent auctions, fun raffles and live entertainment provided by the SOS Big Band.
3. There will be a lot of laughs at Showcase Live at the Mansfield Holiday Inn Saturday at 8 p.m. as "The Irish Comedy Tour" will start at 8 p.m. The doors open at 6 p.m. and seating is first come, first serve. The tour features comedians, Derek Richard, Mike McCarthy, Keith Aherne and Brendan Grace. The Dublin City Ramblers, will add authentic Irish music to the show
4. Hockey greats Milt Schmidt and Fernie Flaman will be signing the Big Card & Memorabilia Show at the Mansfield Holiday Inn. The Sunday event is from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

5. Electric Youth, an ensemble of young singer-dancers back by an eight-piece band of Boston musicans, will be performing at Showcase live at 6:30 p.m. The doors open at 5 p.m. Visit www.showcaselive.com for more information.
