By Jeff Fish

A flash flood watch is in effect for all of Massachusetts, except for Cape Cod, until 8 p.m. according to the National Weather Service.

A warm front is pushing thunderstorms and showers north across the region today, causing up to three inches of rain in some areas already. Temperatures will stay in the upper 70s to low 80s.

The rain is expected to dwindle down in the overnight hours as a cold front moves across the region. We might see a few lingering showers Wednesday but overall, it is expected to be much drier Wednesday afternoon into the evening with temperatures of 85 to 90 degrees.

Cooler and less humid weather is expected for Thursday and Friday.
