UPDATE: New Forecast Shows Lower Snow Totals for Mansfield

Weather forecasters are predicting at least two inches of snow and no more than 5 inches.

Will Mansfield get pummeled this weekend with more than a foot of snow or will it be less than a half-foot with rain mixed in?

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the weekend. The NWS said there is a 90% chance snow will fall in Mansfield on Saturday night along with a northeast wind of 8-13mph and gusts up to 32mph.

While early forecasts showed Mansfield potentailly dealing with up to 10 inches of snow, new projections show a lower total for this weekend's forecast.

Here is a look at the snowfall estimates for Mansfield as of 2 p.m. Friday:

  • Channel 4: 4 to 6 inches
  • Channel 5: 3 to 6 inches
  • Channel 7: 3 to 5 inches 
  • Channel 25: 2 to 4 inches
