Hurricane Irene Knocks Out Power in Mansfield

Hurricane Irene knocks down trees, closes road and leaves Mansfield without power.

It has been a busy Sunday for the Mansfield town officials as Hurricane Irene leave power out in the town and trees on the roads

"There's a millon of them all over town,"   said Mansfield Fire Lt. John Terry. "I've been out all day, handling (downed trees, road closures and power lines."

Roads were closed all over Mansfield, but mostly in West Mansfield.

The National Weather Service in Taunton, told Mansfield Patch to expect winds to taper off this evening at approximately 9 or 10 p.m. Heavy rains have passed for the area, although it is expected to rain longer.
