Mansfield's Garabedian Sets Baseball Record at Bridgewater State

Former Mansfield High standout John Garabedian recently broke the consecutive game streak for the Bridgewater State baseball team.

Mansfield's John Garabedian recently put himself in the Bridgewater State University's baseball team's record book.

When he went out to center field for the Bears during their April 18 game against UMass-Dartmouth, Garabedian set a new school record by appearing his 152nd straight game, breaking the previous mark by Brian Desantes at 151 games from 1994-97. The Bears went on to beat the Corsairs' 12-6 at home. 

On the season, Garabedian has appeared in all 33 games with a .269 average with six doubles, a triple and eight RBI.

The Bears are 19-13-1 and will play at Worcester State Thursday in the first round of MASCAC Tournament.
