Obituary: Remembering 29-Year Mansfield Resident Ruth Kilbrith

Ruth Kilbrith passed away at the age of 91.

Ruth (Chevers) Kilbrith, age 91, of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald W. Kilbrith who died in 1976.

Born in Mansfield, MA on June 15, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Harold F. and Olive L. (Brigham) Chevers.

Ruth grew up in Easton and was a graduate of North Easton High School. For the past 29 years she had made her home in Mansfield and prior to retiring in 1989, she had worked in the office for the Council on Aging in Mansfield.

Prior to returning to Mansfield, Ruth had lived in Orlando, Florida and had been employed in the retail sales department at Brenner’s Bridal and Dress Shop before retiring in 1980.

A former member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Mansfield, Ruth enjoyed following the daily news and was quite knowledgeable on current affairs. She will be missed by her family and always remembered for the meticulous manner in which she made her appearance.

She was the dear sister of the late Jessie B. Fiske and Edith Norma Cundall. She is survived by her dear nephews and niece, Howard R. Fiske and his wife Margaret of Mansfield, Thomas A. Fiske and his wife Barbara of Mansfield and Lorna H. Cundall of Norton. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews of three generations.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of her family at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Ruth with a donation in her memory made to the Patients Activities Fund at Epoch Senior Healthcare, 184 Mansfield Ave. Norton, MA 02766.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
