Serious Motorcycle Accident in Easton Sends One to Hospital Thursday Night

A 56-year-old male sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident Thursday night on Pine Street.

Easton Fire Captain David Beals said the victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by a West Bridgewater ambulance. From there, he will be med-flighted to a Boston hospital for further evaluation.

Beals said emergency officials responded to the call at approximately 7:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officials found the victim conscious in the road. The motorcyle was upside down near him, Beals said.

Crash on Rt. 495 in Mansfield Sends State Trooper to RI Hospital

At 7:45 p.m. Thursday evening, a state trooper cruiser was struck by a van near Exit 12 on Route 495 North according to the Massachusetts State Police.

While on Route 495 northbound near Route 140 assisting another officer investigating an earlier motor vehicle crash, a trooper was hit by a van while in his cruiser.

The trooper was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. The injuries from the accident are not believed to be serious.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the state police.

 

Foxborough Man Arraigned from Hospital Bed After Allegedly Trying to Kill Ex-Wife 

Glenn A. Saltis was arraigned from his hospital bed in Norwood Tuesday afternoon after the Foxborough resident and town’s electrical inspector was arrested for allegedly attacking and severely injuring his ex-wife on Memorial Day.

The arraignment lasted just three minutes at Norwood Hospital as Saltis was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, mayhem, assault to murder, and aggravated assault and battery, according to 7News.

Saltis’ ex-wife, Julie Saltis, reportedly suffered a gash on the right side of her head and is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence for what has been described by the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office as “life-threatening” injuries.

Glenn Saltis allegedly attacked Julie Saltis with his fists and metal shelving from the master bedroom of his 72 Ridge Rd. home, according to the arrest report. Julie Saltis was reportedly “covered in blood from her head to her feet” when she fled the Ridge Road residence in her Toyota 4Runner and drove to her Church Street apartment.

 

Walpole Man Faces 19 Charges Following B&E  

Sean Hanlon, 22, of 12 Pall Mall was arrested for breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, forgery of a check and possession of a class A substance. He was also arrested for two warrants, in which he was charged with eight counts of check forgery and seven counts of misdemeanor larceny.

 

Dedham Man Charged with OUI After Nearly Hitting a Cruiser on Route 128 

On Sunday around 9:25 p.m., State Police charged Keith Thomas, 28, of Dedham for an OUI along with several other charges.

According to police reports, Thomas nearly struck a cruiser and a disabled motorist on Route 128 by five feet.

While another cruiser attended the disabled motorist, Trooper Barry began to follow the SUV and observed it exit off of the highway at Exit 15B and was able to pull over the vehicle.
