Massachusetts corrections chief Luis Spencer must sign monthly reports under oath about the preparations for the sex change operation for former Mansfield resident Michelle Kosilek, said U.S. District Court Judge Mark L. Wolf in order issued Friday, according to a report in the Boston Herald.
Kosilek, who was convicted of killing his wife and is serving a life sentence, was granted his request for a sex change by Judge Wolf.
Now, Wolf said he is concerned the state is resistancing and delaying the process. On Nov. 20, the judge put Kosilek's gender reassigment surgury on hold, while the Department of Corrections appeals the decision. At that time, Wolf did tell the state to prepare for the surgery.
