In between speeches, those in attendance were treated to performances from the MHS band, orchestra and the Senior Choir.

When class president Stephanie Hall spoke, she reflected on her first speech as class president in eight grade when she tripped up the stairs to the podium and the multiple times since she has experienced trouble with steps.

Turning her misfortune into a metaphor, Smith told her classmates to always get up after falling whether it be after falling up the stairs or in life.

"We may stumble, we may fall on our knees, but we still get back up," Smith said."I don't doubt we will be one of the most successful classes to leave MHS."

Visions for Vacancies: 84 Copeland Drive

Drive around Mansfield and you'll notice far too many empty storefronts, buildings and lots.

In this week's "Visions for Vacancies," we're looking at a former bank at 84 Copeland Drive.

A Webster Bank branch for years, the Connecticut based bank closed their Mansfield branch in 2011, citing the rising popularity in online and mobile banking as the reason for the closure.

Since closing in the fall of 2011, the space has remained empty. To this day, flyers telling customers to go to the Webster Bank in Attleboro remain on the front windows.

You Ask....Mansfield Patch Answers: Is the Green Machine Coming Down?

Recently, one of our readers asked if the painting of the Incredible Hulk known as the Green Machine that graces the wall in the Mansfield High School gymnasium was coming down. While the school budget does have money set aside for wall repairs in the gym, the extent of the repairs was not listed.

Looking to get a better answer, Mansfield Patch recently asked Superintendent Brenda Hodges if the giant Incredible Hulk that has looked over athletic activities since the 70s was going to go.

Sadly, the answer is yes. The Incredible Hulk will be a victim of wall repairs.
