Foxboro VFW and Knockouts Haircuts for Men Cut-a-Thon

This
Memorial Day weekend, join Knockouts
Haircuts for Men
and Foxboro VFW
Post 2626
as they raise money and awareness in their community. Knockouts
is located at 287 School Street in
Mansfield, MA.

“Cuts
are going to be welcomed on a walk-in, first come-first served basis, but don’t
worry, there’s plenty to do while you wait!” Amanda Dickerman, the post’s
fundraising coordinator and bartender mentioned. “There will be raffles, a
prize wheel, and refreshments to keep you busy.”

Saturday, May
24
from 12 to 3, salon stylists are donating
their time to provide basic $20 haircuts to patrons, all of which monies raised
will benefit the Foxboro VFW Post 2626 Scholarship and Charity Fund. Payments
are accepted in cash or by check.

Each
year, Post 2626 hosts a golf tournament in which the entry fees are used to
build the Scholarship fund. The VFW accepts essays written by graduating
seniors from Foxboro High. One senior is chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship
to assist in their tuition and the rest of the monies raised is used for the
post’s charity fund, which is donated to local families in need, or to other
charitable causes, most recently St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This
year, the cut-a-thon is a new, creative way to raise funding.

“We
thought choosing this date would be a special way to honor our veterans’
memories. Everyone is invited to join us at the salon for a wonderful cause,”
said salon co-owner Linda Feldman.
